- 2 Samuel 5:4 David was thirty years old when he became king.....
2 Samuel 5:4 David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years: in Hebron he was king over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he was king thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah. **Response ** Samuel picked two kings: First Saul he was weak, disobedient and only cared about his image, second David "man after God's own heart." I'm not saying David is perfect because he made mistakes. The difference between the both of them, David learned from his mistakes, Saul preferred to keep his image. Teaching us the definition of a good king. In reality no one is perfect, just like a marriage what doesn’t bother you won’t kill you. In result, Saul was a weak king, David was strong and brave. David had the qualities of being a good king. Not only did he show kindness to everyone, he brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. A good king puts God first in his kingdom. A good president has “God’s own heart”, overcomes obstacles, fears God and has self-discipline.
- 1Samuel 8:7 who said in answer: “Grant the people’s every request. It is not you they reject, they are rejecting me as their king.
**Reflection** Those who reject God will be left alone, but those who accept God will be in glory. It may seem difficult to accept an alternative reality. There are many things’ scientists can’t explain. What is considered high quality living has been distorted by society and social media. Open your eyes and see who’s behind the scenes do not be fooled for what’s really important. Not all trends are good. God’s love is true happiness. In his faith there is peace of mind.
- 1Samuel 12:21 Do not turn aside to gods who are nothing, who cannot act and deliver. They are nothing.
**Reflection ** The Israelites asked for a king, Samuel did not want to give them a king but he did as they requested. Samuel wanted them to make God their king. Unfortunately, the Israelites did not understand the difference. They only did what they could comprehend. If the Israelites could only see, what it could have been like to have God as their king than they could have been free. United States was based on God's Country the land of the free. Freedom only comes when we believe in God all mighty. If we stop believing than may as well be like any other country. Other countries have their churches underground because of oppression. The people are not allowed to believe in God. In this world it may not seem like this is happening but it is! Do not take freedom for granted, treat it like Gods country our true king. If we all follow Gods way of being, then our country will be forever blessed and protected by the real God almighty.
- Psalms 107:36 And settled the hungry there; they built a city to live in.
**Reflection ** We all face challenges throughout our lives, no one is perfect only God is perfect. It's interesting how hardship humbles a heart, but understanding the words of God Almighty is the greatest strength of all. To understand those words truly takes away hunger. Life is more than what meets the eye, but to live in a Godly way controls hunger one hundred percent. The Bible teaches us how to survive how to live long and healthy lives. It’s so powerful because the Bible teaches us how to live our life in God’s love.
- Prayer for the Readers, Ephesians 3:14-21
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner self, 17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to accomplish far more than all we ask or imagine, by the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

- Moral Conscience, ccc 1776
1776 "Deep within his conscience man discovers a law which he has not laid upon himself but which he must obey. Its voice, ever calling him to love and to do what is good and to avoid evil, sounds in his heart at the right moment.... For man has in his heart a law inscribed by God... His conscience is man's most secret core and his sanctuary. There he is alone with God whose voice echoes in his depths."
- What Is This Sacrament Called? ccc 1214-1215
1214 This sacrament is called Baptism , after the central rite by which it is carried out: to baptize (Greek baptizein) means to "plunge" or "immerse"; the "plunge" into the water symbolizes the catechumen's burial into Christ's death from which he rises up by resurrection with him, as "a new creature." 1215 The sacrament is also called " the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holly Spirit, " for it signifies and actually brings about the birth of water and the Spirit without which no one "can enter the kingdom of God."
- Salvation Only through the Lord’s Servant, Isaiah 50:1-8
Thus says of the Lord: Where is the bill of divorce with which I dismissed your mother? Or to which of my credit have I sold you? It was for your sin that you were sold, for your crimes that your mother was dismissed. Why was no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I called? Is my hand too short to ransom? Have I not the strength to deliver? Lo, with my rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; Their fish rot for lack of water, and die of thirst. I clothe the heaven in mourning, And make sackcloth their vesture. The Lord GOD has given me A well-trained tongue, That I might know how to speak to the weary A word that will rouse them. Morning after morning. he opens my ear that I may hear; And I have not rebelled, have not turned back I gave my back to those who beat me, My checks to those who plucked my beard; My face I did not shield from buffets and spitting The Lord GOD is my help, therefore, I am not disgraced; I have set my face like flint, knowing that I shall not be put to shame He is near who upholds my right; If anyone wishes to oppose me, let us appear together Who disputes my right? Let him confront me See, the Lord GOD is my help; who will prove me wrong? Lo, they will all wear out like cloth, The moth will eat them up. Who among you fear the LORD heeds his servant's voice, And walks in darkness Without any light, Trusting in the name of the Lord and relying on his God All of you Kindle flames and carry about you fiery darts; Walk by the light of your own fire, and by the flares of you have burnt! This is your fate for my hand: you shall lie down in a place of pain.
- Lent Season
Lent is a Christian religious observance in preparation for Easter. Implementing 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert, enduring temptation by Satan. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. To stop bad habits, like stealing an apple, or feeling jealous of what a neighbor may have. Life is hard enough dealing with materialistic values. Lent season brings us back to what’s really important in this world. To value Christ our Savior, to deepen our faith. Refresh our souls and start over again. Attempt to do better and not lose sight of what's important. Life is too short to worry about materialistic values, eventually it all turns back into dirt. This is a perfect time to focus on important things: love one another. True love is more important than anything that sits around and collects dust, so find something real and avoid temptation.

- David’s Victory, 1Samuel 17:41-51
41 With his shield-bearer marching before him, the Philistine also advanced closer and closer to David. 42 When he had sized David up, and seen that he was youthful, and ruddy, and handsome in appearance, he held him in contempt. 43 The Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog that you come against me with a staff?” Then the Philistine cursed David by his gods 44 and said to him, “Come here to me, and I will leave your flesh for the birds of the of the air and the beasts of the field.” 45 David answered him: “You come against me with sword and spear, and scimitar, but I come against you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel that you have insulted. 46 Today, the Lord shall deliver you into my hand; I will strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will leave your corpse and the corpse of the Philistine army for the birds of the air and the beast of the field; thus the whole land shall learn that Israel has a God. 47 All this multitude, too, shall learn that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves. For the battle is the LORD’S, and he shall deliver you into our hands.” 48 The Philistine then moved to meet David at close quarters, while David ran quickly toward the battle line in the direction of the Philistine. 49 David put his hand into the bag and took out a stone, hurled it with the sling, and struck the Philistine on the forehead, the stone embedded itself in his brow, and he fell prostrate on the ground. 50 [Thus David overcame the Philistine with sling and Stone; he struck the Philistine mortally and did it without a sword.] 51 Then David ran and stood over him; with the Philistine‘s own sword, [which he drew from its sheath] he dispatched him and cut off his head.
