  • Tormented by Satan

Job Being Tormented by Satan, 1562, Marten van Heemskerck The narrative of Job is a lesson about life. It's a story about the struggle of a blameless man. Job possessed all the wealth in the land and had great fear of God. He was consistently righteous and good. his circumstances drastically shifted when he lost everything and endured significant suffering. Despite his plight, he was unable to comprehend any wrongdoing on his part or the reasons for his suffering. "In the land of Uz there was a blameless and upright man named job, who feared God and avoided evil. Seven sons and three daughters were born to him; and he had seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred she-donkeys, and a very large household, so that he was greater than anyone in the East. His sons used to take turns giving feasts, sending invitations to their three sisters to eat and drink with them. And when each feast had run its course, Job would send for them and sanctify them, rising early and offering sacrifices for every one of them. For Job said, "It may be that my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Job did this habitually." Job 1 Suffering is an inevitable aspect of life, not restricted to any individual. Satan is perpetually seeking his next target. It could happen to anyone and for no reason at all. No one can escape the torturous effects of Satan's suffering. We all make decisions and ultimately may be misguided. None of us are impervious; we are all fallible. Suffering is not exclusive to the less fortunate; it affects everyone. However, suffering can serve as an opportunity to resist sin in its pervasive presence. Sin does not follow a straightforward path; it is the result of Satan's relentless temptations. Temptation is also very hard to avoid because of all the things around us: the television, cell phones, tablets, society, culture, music, stores. It's extremely tempting but not impossible. Since suffering is an inevitable part of life, it is essential for us to learn how to manage it effectively. Depending on your point of view, it may not be a bad thing. It could provide an opportunity to gain deeper insights into wisdom and strengthen our connection with God. It is important to learn about different events that may peek into our lives. For instance, prioritizing God should always be first, and we should exercise caution in our use of cell phones. Interestingly, the size of a cell phone is comparable to that of the Golden Calf. By comprehending the suffering associated with our salvation and that of others, we become wiser and more adept at making informed decisions, empowering us to overcome evil. Each time we overcome evil, we draw nearer to God. Through suffering, we gain wisdom, which instructs us in combating evil. This is crucial, as Satan constantly seeks new targets. Any form of temptation has the potential to lead us into sin. Therefore, enduring suffering is essential for learning how to strengthen our relationship with God.

  • There is my plan and then there is God's plan.

At times, it can be difficult to follow what God wants us to do. Occasionally, I feel like I'm in a state of waiting, but I find comfort in knowing that this waiting isn't in vain. A plan is unfolding beyond what I can see; God not only improves situations but provides us with blessings beyond our imagination. Developing patience is a part of discipline, and assisting others is one of the most valuable qualities in life. Let's fill our hearts with God's love and see how green the grass is on the other side.

  • Finding faith

At times, finding faith can be challenging. I immerse myself in reading to understand the true meaning of faith. However, reading alone isn't sufficient; I find that praying on those tough days when everything seems confusing helps to calm my mind. It's only when my mind is at peace that I'm prepared to attend church and receive the Eucharist, reminding myself of the importance of reading the Bible, understanding, and praying. It's crucial to remain vigilant, as evil seeks to creep in and tempt me or divert my attention from what truly matters. Evil is always searching for opportunities to infiltrate. Often, it feels like we live in a world full of temptation. Yet, by surrounding myself with the Holy Spirit, goodness prevails, and with discipline I will have Jesus all around me with all his sacraments, living a holy life as God intended.

  • Pride comes before the fall

Pride often stems from self-satisfaction linked to achievements. It's wonderful to experience success and a sense of accomplishment, yet such feelings are fleeting as the cycle of self-evaluation continues. Valuing self-worth is crucial, as we know that God loves all His children, and there's nothing more rewarding than being loved by God. Meanwhile, some pursue the ideal family image, perhaps owning a luxurious home without a backyard, or striving to be part of an elite society. However, don't let attractive images mislead you; each picture holds countless interpretations. The real question is how much effort is enough to live a picture-perfect family sitcom life. There will come a time when altering ourselves entirely might gain us acceptance in a self-reliant society and recognition as significant individuals. Yet, feeling and pretending to be important are temporary without sacrificing a part of your authentic, loving self. How is ignoring others truly beneficial when showing kindness to those less fortunate is so simple? It's more fulfilling to help friends look great, knowing they will care for me regardless of my appearance. How can you express love if you're overly focused on feeling important and superior? How do you assist others? How do you support yourself? Pride precedes downfall and leads nowhere. Faith in God and humility from a softened heart hold more value than pride. Strive to be beautiful in God's eyes and love your neighbors.

  • Lawlessness

The unruly individuals were poised to steer our free nation towards idol worship. Had we continued in lawlessness, our soldiers and patriots would have sought refuge. If most of the population had followed the unruly, we would certainly have been doomed. Support your neighbors and refrain from idolizing other deities. One day, it might be the devil in disguise. Be courageous, love one another, and avoid worshiping other gods, particularly materialistic values.

  • Jesus is born

During this blessed season, intended for reflection and spiritual preparations, our hearts and minds are naturally drawn to the profound significance of Advent – a period designed to usher in the miraculous celebration of Jesus's birth. Yet, I often find myself observing, and indeed experiencing, how easily this sacred journey can become overshadowed. The ubiquitous 'hustle and bustle' – the endless quest for the perfect gifts, the sheer volume of tasks – often consumes our energy and attention. Our minds, intended to be serene and focused on spiritual renewal, can become restless, overwhelmed, and frankly, quite stressed. This frantic pace seems to pull us further away from the very emotions we yearn to cultivate: the profound love, compassion, and quiet joy that should define our celebration of Christ's nativity. It strikes me how often the emphasis shifts from spiritual presence to material presents, inadvertently diverting our focus from the true essence of Christmas. While gestures of goodwill and generosity are lovely, they can, at times, become a distraction rather than an enhancement of the season's deepest meaning. Christmas, arriving but once a year, offers a singular, precious opportunity to honor the birth of Jesus. It is a season inherently beautiful, elegant, after all, His birthday. Perhaps, in the midst of our traditions, we can intentionally carve out moments to re-center our celebrations around this core truth, allowing the Holy Spirit to truly illuminate our festivities. May this Christmas be a time of profound spiritual connection and authentic joy for us all.

  • Fake Truth

Jesus referred to himself as the light of the world because he embodies truth. This is not the fake truth often presented to us, such as social gossip and materialistic values. Social media frequently highlights the latest trends and luxurious possessions, but genuine happiness has always existed and remains unchanged. True happiness is found in a spirited child, muddy boots, and a glowing face provided by good food from God. Despite attempts by malevolent forces tries to make things shiny and clean, these are mere fake illusions. The devil wants to destroy us from within to have us for himself. Evil tries to make us forget all that is just and good. It will never be better than the goodness our Father gave to us. Our Father knows what we need; he wants us to love one another. So don't buy happiness; make a pie full of love and give it to your neighbor. Now that is a true feeling of happiness, from the one who receives it to the one who makes it. If we all treated each other with kindness, loneliness would be a thing of the past. A life without purpose lacks fulfillment.

  • No one confronts evil alone

We currently live in a world where evil is pervasive. An elderly woman once told me, "The devil is walking on his last leg," and I was taken aback by the truth in her words. We have been engaged in a spiritual battle for a decade now, but its impact became truly palpable only when we confronted evil directly. Darkness has rampaged unchecked, consuming everything in its path, particularly targeting the weak and vulnerable. The film "The Ritual," featuring Al Pacino, imparted a significant lesson: we cannot combat evil in isolation. It prompts reflection on why we should believe in God and why love among us is crucial. I fear that where there is heaven, evil also exists on earth. "The Ritual" is based on one of the most documented exorcisms, where evil relentlessly tempted priests and nuns, leaving a young girl demonized and unaided. Only through unity were they able to overcome this malevolent force. Evil is always poised to exploit any doubt in faith to distort our thought processes. Therefore, we must love one another for the sake of humanity, as no one can confront evil alone.

  • Isaiah 43:1-3 Do not fear

“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, Jacob, and formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name: you are mine. When you pass through waters, I will be with you; through rivers, you shall not be swept away. When you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, nor will flames consume you. For I, the Lord, am your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior. I give Egypt as ransom for you, Ethiopia and Seba in exchange for you.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NABRE‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/463/isa.43.1-3.NABRE

  • Messages and Suffering

Our body is a temple that hold our spirit from within. We are all made special in our own unique ways. The love always wanting to come out without knowing the reason. The tug of wanting to see a kite above the sky. It 's so deeply engraved in our souls it has a unique ability to connect love with the world around us. life isn't always perfect and could get pretty messy. One thing is for sure God sends us messages all the time. It could be as simple as a butterfly. Messages could only be understood by the recipeint. We all go through suffering in this world but when God says you are not alone it's even through our sufferings. Pay attenetion and trust in God as you will see how God suffers with us.

  • Spiritual War

Jesus Christ, our Lord, spent 40 days in the desert to test Himself against evil and ensure His ability to overcome it. During this time, enduring the desert without food or water made resisting temptation incredibly challenging. However, only the strongest individuals can navigate the straight path while avoiding the crooked one. The world is in constant motion, and numerous spiritual events are occurring at present. The righteous are facing persecution, innocent individuals are being released from prison, and hostages in Israel are finally returning home, whether alive or deceased. It resembles a battle between good and evil, marking an ongoing spiritual war. The persistence of temptation and the presence of evil are constant threats. Evil will attempt to sway us if we allow it. The question remains: Will good prevail over evil, or will it be one step behind when things seem calm? A lack of visible activity does not imply inactivity; it often signifies preparation for the next move. Just when it seems the world cannot become more challenging or malevolent, evil appears to be losing, becoming desperate, and seeking new methods to prevail. The forces of good strive to maintain their vigilance and restore the world to a state akin to heaven on earth, where everyone feels protected and finds meaning in their lives. We are all on a journey to discover our purpose. I believe the world has been set in motion, and while evil may think the game remains unchanged, the dynamics have indeed shifted.

  • This is true faith

This poem is the best description regarding “Faith Journey” Day by day, day by day, O dear Lord, three things I pray: to see thee more clearly, love thee more dearly, follow thee more nearly, day by day, -St. Richard of Chichester The exploration of faith is a journey. Each individual embarks their own empty paths. And every individual is on their own path building creating their own architectural building. It is a process that is very mysterious but that’s okay because God’s mystery through faith is not meant to be obvious but oblique. God is there every step of the way if we reach for him, he is there even if we don’t know it yet.
