  • Choose Light

Every choice we make has consequences, sometimes it’s hard to tell if we’re making the right choice. It could be a hard choice, whether I should sneak out grandpa from the nursing home and take him out for dinner. Later, to find out he shouldn’t eat cheese, and his heart rate goes up. Sometimes we don’t know why things happen the way they do. But it is reasonable to believe it happens for a reason. We are all sinners we’re supposed to make mistakes. Like the way kids make mistakes, and that’s okay! They are learning to make good choices. As a sinner it’s known that we will always make mistakes how else would we learn. Obviously, mistakes are various depending on our experience level. Don’t look at a mistake as a problem but figure out how to solve it. Remember real problems define our character. Real experience will make us wiser. God’s word will give us guidance. Proverbs 15:21 “Folly is joy to the senseless, but the person of understanding goes the straight way.”

So, take advantage and see how much character you could develop with just a few opportunities. When life starts to get challenging be brave. Joshua 1:9 “I command you: be strong and steadfast! • Messages

God sends messages all the time. When we're seeking for guidance, love, answers- it’s usually because were stuck and need help. Luckly for us, the Bible gives us many answers, but it still seems overwhelming or uncertain. Whatever you do don’t stop reading just try to pray for guidance. Before reading let the holy spirit light up your journey through the word of God. Pay attention because you never know where God will send you a message. It could be in the good book or somewhere else. One time I was looking for a job, so I got up one morning, got dressed and was ready to go out the front door. I had my resume, credentials and started up my car. At that moment I prayed for a good job. The first place I went they told me their boss was at a different location. So, after driving to three different locations and interviewing with two different managers all on the same day. I was hired; God answered my prayers. Exodus 4:8 "If they will not believe you, nor heed the message of the first sign, they should believe the message of the second" Exodus 4:9 "And if they will not believe even these two signs, nor heed your plea, take some water from the river and pour it on the dry land. The water you take from the river will become blood on the dry land."

  • Mother of love

Love has so many obstacles going all different directions, difficult roads, and easy roads. Love is not always easy; we don’t decide who we fall in love with. Another kind of love comes from our parents. The most important kind of all is from our mother. A mother’s love is the first one to show love to a child. “Daughters of Unloving Mothers” by Peg Streep, Tech Support states the result of unloving mothers; lack of confidence, lack of trust, difficulty setting boundaries, difficulty seeing the self accurately, making avoidance the default position, being overly sensitive, replicating the mother bond in relationship. The love of a mother gives children the necessary skills to make a good life. The Virgin Mary, The Mother of Jesus gave us the biggest gift of all, the ability to love our children. By her tender heart filled with compassion and understanding. The Mother of Jesus gave us her Immaculate heart to share to the world. The immaculate heart is the most important gift. A child with an immaculate heart is a new generation with love and compassion. Learning about our Father Son and Holy Spirit will make our children complete. The knowledge from the Bible would give our children the best life, to help them fulfill their purpose in life. Whatever that purpose may by, only with an immaculate heart and Gods love will our children succeed. Luke 1:42 "cried out in a loud voice and said, "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb" Rosary Prayer Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death Amen.

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves." Matthew 7:16 "By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, of figs from thistles?" Matthew 7:17 "Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit." Matthew 7:18 "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit." Matthew 7:19 "Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire" Matthew 7:20 "So by their fruits you will know them."

  • Two becomes one flesh

When I was a young teenager, I imagined what my life would be like in a big house with a garden. I watched a lot of Hallmark movies growing up. Going back to my dream house inside was my future husband, waiting for me. He was tall dark and handsome. He was also very kind, knowledgeable and caring. Yes, I know, that was a bit too much. As I waited for my dream guy to come, after a while I realized my expectations were too high. I prayed to God; please send me a good husband he doesn’t have to be handsome or tall he just needs to have a good heart. Ring Ring “Hello”, and just like that it happened, we were put on the phone, and we started talking. He sounded smart and had a great sense of humor. He’s also a hard worker and knows how to fix things like a car and repairs around the house. His voice sounded so polite, just like a cowboy. It felt like I went back in time, about one hundred years earlier. Well, this was a done deal and all of a sudden there was a proposal. Soon after there were church bells. I was finally married! We were in our new home ready to start our life together. It wasn’t exactly how I pictured it, but my perspective changed from that young teenage girl. Marriage was a lot more complicated than I ever imagined. We had a lot of disagreements, but fortunately we both have good hearts. We were both hard workers and very eager to learn. My handsome husband turned out to be a geek, just like me. We both wear glasses, and we both have messy hair. His hair was not perfect. None of that really mattered except for one thing, we were both very stubborn. If you have ever known a stubborn person follow the golden rule, we learn by our own actions. Being stubborn meant we were always right, and no one was ever wrong. After a few years of arguing, those big problems turned into small problems. A lot of compromise was involved. It made me realize every problem we encountered brought us closer together, problems became opportunities. Time started to move quickly. After fifteen years of marriage, I look up and their stood my tall dark and handsome husband after all. "two shall become one flesh" Genesis 2:24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two of them become one body Ephesians 5:31 “For this reason a man shall leave [his] father and [his] mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

  • A Test of Faith

Today will be a challenging day because tomorrow will determine the faith of our country. I refuse to worry about something that has not happened yet. If I worry now, that our country may go to war. What if our warrior does not get in, or unable to clean house? No, I will not worry now but wait to see what tomorrow brings. Cause I am a woman of faith. And I believe my faith brought me this far, why not let my faith carry me the rest of the way. Matthew 6:34 "Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil."

  • Working Hands

As much as I want everything right now God has other plans. When I’m anxious or frustrated I’m sure God is laughing up there. We try to plan and schedule everything. For some this becomes our primary goal in life. Somethings never turn out the way we want it. There is our plan and there is God’s plan. No matter how hard we try it will never be exactly what we want. In result it begins to feel like were wrestling with God. Why wrestle when we could be working with God. Remember we need to have faith and let God work through us. Philippians 2:13 “For God is the one who, for his good purpose, works in you both to desire and to work."

  • Our God is a merciful God

Jesus died on the cross for our sins. God made us perfect in his image. In his image we are perfectly imperfect. You see, God gave us the desire to make our own choices. We were given free will. The ability to find our faith and let Jesus into our hearts. Through mistakes and being the sinner that we are, it’s how we find our faith. In order for us to be closer to God we must learn from the errors of our ways. In the resurrection Jesus forgave the thief who was next to him. He forgave Judas for giving up Jesus for thirty silver coins. Jesus died for our sins so we could learn from our mistakes, we still have a chance to rectify ourselves. So, when we make a mistake or accidently break one of God’s commandments go to confession! That’s why we have confession to give ourselves another chance to be closer to God, Our Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Remember our God is a very merciful God. Matthew 28:19-20 “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Psalms 116:5-7 “Gracious is the Lord and righteous; yes, our God is merciful. The Lord protects the simple; I was helpless, but he saved me. Return, my soul, to your rest; the Lord has been very good to you.”

  • True Friend

In this world we all need a friend. Not an acquaintance who just wants to have fun and "go party". I’m talking about a true friend who is there when you need it the most. When things are not so good. Are we being good Christians and truly being there for one another? Are we lending a helping hand? Are we listening to our friend through their frustrations. One day your friend may get sick and have no one to advocate for him. Are you willing to visit your friend? It’s important to be a good friend so we can help each other through those tough times. We really never know when our life is going to flip upside down. God gave us opportunities to solve problems, but he never said we had to do it alone. As more time passes, I come to the realization that good friends are hard to find. John 15:13  “No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:17  “This I command you: love one another.”

  • Prosecution

The Judicial branch is our court system. We start with the County courts, District courts, Circuit courts of appeal, and lastly Supreme Court. I believe our court systems has been compromised. I don’t believe everyone gets a fair trial and it’s hard to be able to afford good lawyers. But fortunately, we have pro bono lawyers. I believe these lawyers genuinely want to help those in need. For our court system it’s a vital lifeline, especially if someone is falsely accused. Don’t underestimate the severity of the situation. It’s as simple as being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or poor circumstances. In 2004 Hurricane Ivan hit, Marsha Colbey, her husband and six children lost their home. They went from their relaxing southern coastal life into a crowded FEMA trailer. She was also pregnant and everything was about survival. They both had to start all over and find new jobs. Marsha ended having a still born, neither her or her husband could afford to give their baby a proper burial. So instead, decided to bury their baby in the back yard. Long story short a nosy neighbor saw that Marsha was no longer pregnant no signs of a baby. Later Marsha was convicted with first-degree murder without parole. Luckly Marsha was defended by Bryan Stevenson a pro bono lawyer and later she was released. There are many other stories like this in his book “Just Mercy.” And this is why, we should not be so quick to dismiss our prisoners. In reality if our Judicial Branch becomes corrupt. Any one of us could end up in a bad situation. I am always cautious who is in our judicial branch for the sake of our fellow citizens until proven guilty. 1Peter 3:17 “For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be the will of God, than for doing evil.” Matthew 10:26 “Therefore do not be afraid of them. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.” Matthew 10:27 “What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.” Matthew 10:28 “And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.”
