- "The Samaritan Woman" John 4
13 ''Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again" 14 "but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." What did Jesus mean when he said you will never thirst again? John 4:23 "But the hour is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; and indeed the Father seeks such people to worship him."
- "Divine Promise of Assistance" response
Life continues to propagate challenges and we all need to make difficult choices. It's important to know where to stand when we make these difficult choices. Staying on the righteous path is always hard but the results are much more sweeter. It's not necessarly impacting the challenge itself but other aspects of our life as well. Don't swerve right or left it's important to be firm and steadfast following the law of God given to us by Moses. Don't lose track of what is important. When we die, we won't take anything with us. Our love for one another is much more important than anything else. This is why knowing whats important will help us make better choices. Stay on the righteous course. Temptation takes a lot of self discipline but not imposible. If we follow Gods way of being, he will not foresake us. Life is full of obstacles and difficult choices. Follow the righteous path, be steadfast toward the light of God and see how much love there could be.
- "Devine Promise of Assistance" Joshua 1
1 "After Moses, the servant of the LORD, had died, the LORD said to Moses' aid Joshua, son of Nun:" 2 "My servant Moses is dead. So prepare to cross the Jordan here, with all the people, into the land I will give the Israelites." 3 "As I promised Moses, I will deliver to you every place where you set foot." 4 "Your domain is to be all the land of the Hittites, from the desert and from Lebanon east to the great river Euphrates and west to the Great Sea." 5 "No one can withstand you while you live. I will be with you as I was with Moses: I will not leave you nor forsake you." 6 "Be firm and steadfast, so that you may give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers I would give them." 7 "Above all, be firm and steadfast, taking care to observe the entire law which my servant Moses enjoined on you. Do not swerve from it either to the right or to the left, that you may succeed wherever you go." 8 "Keep this book of the law on your lips. Recite it by day and by night, that you may observe carefully all that is written in it; then you will successfully attain your goal." 9 "I command you: be firm and steadfast! Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God, is with you wherever you go."
- “The Church” Response
Church, Church, where are you? I need to fill my soul today. Once a week is enough for me To go back to work and do the same. To do your calling everyday. The life I enjoy. Only if I fill up today. I fill back up and start again and fill this world back up again. The Church becomes my life, you see. To fill with love for all to see! Church, Church, where are you? I need to visit- my best friend soon. To get my Eucharist- so we can meet. “Tabernacle” I say to you. To say my prayers by telling God. Life is better in Church, oh God Oh mighty one. I’m visiting friends. I need to go to church today. Where we enjoy a song or two. To hear the beautiful organ play. Where we enjoy the sound of angels. But only with my best friend God. Church, Church where are you? I see my peeps waiting for you To hear the priest. To hear those words we hold so dear From the book we all share so we could all hear Those loving words from the ones who knows The stories we all hear. The story of: Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, and Moses. The stories never change. Our love is still the same. When we all gather in here. Our community will remain the same. With children and adults still finding their faith The older peeps correct us all day. No one is perfect but only God. We grow our faith in the church. Together as a community it should be. Only with God we could grow our love. No one needs to be alone. When we have church and God for all to glee.
- “Church Order” Thessalonians 5
12 “We ask you, brothers, to respect those who are laboring among you and who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you,” 13 “and to show esteem for them with special love on account of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.”
- “Love of Enemies” Matthew 5
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’” 44 “But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you,” 45 “that you may be children of your Heavenly Father, for he makes his son rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.” 46 “For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same?” 47 “And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same?” 48 “So be perfect, just as your Heavenly Father is perfect”
- “The Talking Ass” response
Number 22:27-30 27 “When the ass saw the angel of the LORD there, she cowered under Balaam. So, in anger, he again beat the ass with his stick.” 28 “But now the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she asked Balaam, “What have I done to you that you should beat me these three times?” 29 “You have acted so willfully against me,” said Balaam to the ass, “that if I but had a sword at hand, I would kill you here and now.” 30 “But the ass said to Balaam, “Am I not your own beast, and have you not always ridden upon me until now? Have I been in the habit of treating you this way before?” “No,” replied Balaam.” 31 “Then the Lord removed the veil from Balaam’s eyes, so that he too saw the angel of the LORD standing on the road with sword drawn; and he fell on his knees and bowed to the ground” Our creatures may not be comprehensive thinkers but they are our creatures. I believe every creature has a purpose in this world and every thing has a job. It may not be a sophisticated job but they are still our creatures given to us by God. Reading the way Balaam speaks to his ass seemed cruel and irrational. The ass is unable to defend itself. Her owner should have treated her better, and attempt to analyze the situation. Our animals need patience and understanding just like everything else.
- “The Temptation of Jesus” Matthew 4
1 “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.” 2 “He fasted for forty days and fourth nights, and afterwards he was hungry.” 3 “The tempter approached and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become loaves of bread.” 4 “He said in reply, “It is written: ‘One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’”
- “Danger of Prosperity” Deuteronomy 8
16 “and fed you in the desert with manna, a food unknown to your fathers, that he might afflict you and test you, but also make you prosperous in the end” 17 “Otherwise, you might say to yourselves, ‘It is my own power and the strength of my own hand that has obtained for me this wealth.” 18 “Remember then, it is the LORD, your God who gives you the power to acquire wealth, by fulfilling as he has now done, the covenant which he swore to your fathers.”
- “Avoid Excess” CCC 2299
"The virtue of temperance disposes us to avoid every kind of excess: the abuse of food, alcohol, tobacco, or medicine. Those incur grave guilt who, by drunkenness or a love of speed, endanger their own and others safety on the road, at sea, or in the air." (CCC 2290) I like to say, "too much of one thing is bad for you". For instance, too much sugar could transition to diabetes. It's important to voluntarily self-restraint yourself. In general, too much of anything is not good for anybody. As well as eating excessive amount of fiber like apple sauce- This will present a different problem. A small portion diet may be a good fit. Unfortunately, it takes time to develop a small stomach, but it is possible. My favorite thing to do is to be active. I like to stay busy with more important things like spending time with my child or working in the garden. Life is so much simpler if we focus on other things, more productive things. We need to come back to healthy living.
- “The Talking Ass” Numbers 22
31 “Then the Lord removed the veil from Balaam’s eyes, so that he too saw the angel of the LORD standing on the road with sword drawn; and he fell on his knees and bowed to the ground.” 32 “But the angel of the LORD said to him, “Why have you beaten your ass these three times? It is I who have come armed to hinder you because this rash journey of yours is directly opposed to me.” 33 “When the ass saw me, she turned away from me these three times. If she had not turned away from me, I would have killed you; her I would have spared.”
- The Church
“To reunite all his children, scattered and led astray by sin, the Father willed to call the whole of humanity together into his Son’s Church. The Church is the place where humanity must rediscover its unity and salvation. The Church is “the world reconciled.” She is that bark which “in the full sail of the Lord’s cross, by the breath of the Holy Spirit, navigates safely in this world.” According to another image dear to the Church Fathers, she is prefigured by Noah’s ark, which alone saves from the flood.” (CCC 845) “Outside the Church there is no salvation”
