Jesus on the cross

Jesus died for us on the cross, but I always wondered why he had to suffer? Why did Jesus die the cruelest way possible? Why was he the one who needed to be crucified? He did nothing wrong to deserve such a harsh punishment. Jesus spoke the truth and cured the sick. People looked for him from far away. Jesus told us to be like him and we will be saved. The majority of the people believed in him and his disciples followed him. King Pontius Pilate felt threaten by Jesus. He felt Jesus was becoming too popular among the people. The King wanted him dead but he couldn't do it in front of the public. Even to this day the government tries to eliminate Jesus from all public buildings. Jesus is so much more than anything physical on this earth. He is the light given by God.
